Job Hunting and Birthday

Thu Jul 2, 2009, 7:46 PM
So, I used to work 40 hours at my current job, but they cut my hours in half. Which means my pay check will be cut in half. Now, I understand that I work at a training facility, and that I have been there for nearly two years. Deseret Industries, to those who have never heard of it, is much like a good will store; we take in things that the original owner no longer wants or has need for and, after looking over bundles and bundles of clothing articles, small items like toys, movies and other knick knacks, larger items like desks, and couches, we sell the ones that are in fairly good condition for a cheaper price than a Walmart or Target as examples. This is my first job, and I excelled through the training classes they threw at me quickly, I know how to do almost every area like shoes, sorting clothing or electronics, the dock where we take in the items people no longer want, and cashiering. I can do everything quickly and easily, although I am not fond of working with people. Its been great there, well at least a few of the people and job coaches, or managers, that have turned into rather close friends of mine. But lately they have been giving me and the other high school grads hell because we are 'taking up place for others to come in' and take over our jobs. Only so many people can work there, for our building isn't very large. Frankly, I'm getting sick of it all. They are there to help us find better jobs, but my direct supervisor hasn't done shit until just yesterday. He also informed me that my last day to work there is August eighth. Enough time to Hopefully get hired for a better job.

Clint is one of the job coaches and he has been asking if I have been looking for a job, but really I've been too busy with so many other things I haven't been able to start looking around town. My dad told me that two local stores, one an agriculture store that sells items like horse tack, animal feed and so on, and then our Big 5 Sporting Goods store is hiring as well. Tomorrow I will be going to pick up some an application for those two, but I really don't know if I will even get the job.

When I found out when I returned from a two week vacation that my hours had been cut down to 20 instead of my regular 40, I was more than pissed. I was gone for two fucking weeks and they didn't even call to inform me of this new change. I work four hours a day, five days a week when I used to work eight hours six days a week. What the hell? A little warning please? Oh, and I was the only one out of all six of us that was cut back so harshly. I haven't even been there as long as four of them either, so why do they still have at least thirty hours under their belt? I really don't find that fair but I know all to well that life isn't fair and never will be.

So, I have been thrown to the wolves when it comes to finding a job and only have a month to get said job. Lucky me.

And my birthday is coming up. The big 1-8. Woop-dee-fucking-doo. And guess what else. I traded in my jeep, transmission was going out, and got an '08 Chevy Cobalt. Much better mileage than the piece of shit jeep. Got back from vacation and then some girl smashed into the driver side door on a bike, shattered the side view mirror, scratched up the middle of the door and left tire marks on the bottom of the door. Great fucking time for me. They supposedly don't have insurance, so my insurance will go up again probably as I had rear ended a coworkers vehicle when they decided to speed out of the parking lot before we left for vacation. So, life sucks right now but hopefully it will get better once I find a new job that won't give me a month to pack up.

I have a bug bite on my foot too. It itches. I'm pretty sure I'm done ranting now.

Have a great life!

Kashanta91.

I be kidding, or course. Yours is better with the lines and paragraphs or whatever those smarter people call them. I'm at a loss of words right now so I cannot think of the correct terms.
